cooties and big fish

Forgot to post the week's Perry Bible Fellowship. Brings back old memories... kinda.

In other news - yesterday, I was reading about freshwater fish. There are some pretty freakingly huge ones out there. What if you were fishing, hoping for a trout or a bass, and you got some 2,700 kg fish on the line? Or even worse, you were swimming in the lake, and one of these bitches just comes up next to you? Scary.

Mekong giant catfish: Can grow up to 3 meters and 300 kg, as seen here. Sure, they're native to Southeast Asia, but next time you're in Laos... watch out. Yikes.

European sturgeon: 9 meter, 2,700 kg sturgeon have been recorded before. Strangely enough, these things can live up to 150 years. They're actually a common proposed explanation of certain "lake monsters" like Nessie.

Big Fish was a pretty good movie, too. Everyone loves Ewan McGregor!
