the return of the je(blog)di

Yes, that's right, I went for a brief, two-week hiatus. And man, was the vacation nice! Sunny Florida, blustery Maine, marijuana-y Denver... I'm kidding. But not about the hiatus. It was never announced, but it was planned. Do not fear; Luke is here!

Probably the biggest thing of interest that happened in this time was Thanksgiving Break. And it wasn't all that interesting! Okay, so, my sister came home and I got to see her for the first time in months. That was cool. And Thanksgiving itself was cool. Probably the most enjoyable part of the break was just... that it was a break. And a crucially needed one, I do say so myself. And that was gay. But really. Breaks are cool. And of course, I can't wait for winter break.

So, last Tuesday, I organized a track team movie night to go see Beowulf, but it turned out I couldn't go so everyone went without me. Alas, the tears I cried that night were like no other before! But I heard that the flick was mediocre at best. And no, it is not a rip-off of 300-- the advertising may be, but it says naught about the actual movie. I digress.

It rained in track today. And rain is okay. Just not running in it for an hour or so, lying down in it, doing hills in it, etc. I guess I won't complain. I guess I'll just say that I hope for the better days in which we practice inside. Sure, it hurts your knees. But it's nice and warm; plus, there's that cozy "omg-indoor-track-is-so-fun" feeling." Yeah, you probably wouldn't know. And I'm getting faster, anyway. Whoo.

socio-literacy

States were a boatload of fun. Got to leave school early on Friday. Drove up with Josh's family to Norwood-Norfolk, way upstate near Potsdam. It's barely New York up there... French radio stations and Indian propaganda, and no real New York "feel." The course was very nice, with some "stinger" hills (one of the hills was called Stinger Hill). We stayed at a very nice hotel, with a public computer and lounge. Also, the hotel shared a parking lot with a huge casino; we didn't go. The race itself was cool, and our two runners did well. There were also a lot of hot girls there; most of them stared daggers at me. D:

Also, I went to the Eastview Mall on Saturday. Not much new there, just more hot girls and icy stares. I did get some clothes, though.

I also met the new distance coach for indoor at Dick's. He got a sub-30 minute 10,000 meters... pretty crazy. Seems like a nice guy and a nice addition to the team.

It was a three-day weekend, thus, a four-day week. I like it. My parents are once again going to Cleveland this weekend, leaving me behind. I kinda wanna see Beowulf. Rides, anyone?

zzzzzap

I feel like some pretty important/mildly interesting things happened in this previous week. I just can't remember them. Maybe a quick list will summarize my days.

Oh, yeah. I sprained my ankle on Monday afternoon. It was a minor sprain, but enough to be a bitch. But it's been getting better for the last week; by the end of this week I should be fine.

Also, it seems that Lansing sports teams are doing a lot of winning. Plz keep that up, bitches.

Josh did me the courtesy of invites me to tag along while he runs at XC States this Fri/Sat. Cool.

There was a dance this Saturday. It sucked at the beginning, then got mildly fun. Yeah.

I got my first Beatles bootleg (Beatleg, lol). Live! at the Star-Club... low quality, but great insight. Lots of fun, and hopefully not the last beatleg.

That's all, folks (I can't believe I haven't used that yet).
