living in a bubble

Eurodance (the genre) is too damn catchy. And by catchy, I mean, bad. Kinda. I enjoy listening to it, but I shouldn't. The vocals are sub-par, the lyrics bad, and the music is repetitive. At best, it can be "pretty." Call it a guilty pleasure, I guess.

I did an actual running workout at practice for the first time in weeks. It was... painful, because I am painfully out of shape, but it felt good afterwords. Also, I went swimming in the creek. That felt good. State Quals are tomorrow (obv. I'm not running), and it will probably be the last meet I'll attend for a while. Sad.

Enter stage left: summer, and all of its exercising joys.

Also, Biology E/M SAT II on Saturday. Fuck.

hyperboles galore

The above title was taken from a review of Sgt. Pepper's. It sounds pretty cool. Enjoy it.

Also, the carnival is in town. This means that tomorrow, I will...

-eat too much
-go on too many rides
-spend too much money
-hit on mediocre-looking women who are probably over the age of 18

Probably not the last one. But maybe, if I'm rly desperate. Just kidding. Maybe.

But carnivals come once a year. So does Christmas. So does June 24, and August 9. So who really cares? You can't have carnival without can! And I see no significance of what I just said!

So bye. >_>

nail clippings

As I write this post, I'm clipping my fingernails! This means that I am multi-tasking, and every conformist knows that multi-tasking is the conformist thing to do! Perhaps this also is some sort of symbolism. The remains of my nail clippings are the shattered fragments of life's love! But that's a pretty deep thought for a Monday-- we'll wait until, say, Thursday to dissect that thought. But probably not even then.

Speaking of Thursdays, there will be no more of The Office or Scrubs, now that their respective seasons have ended! And, thanx to IACs (which I volunteered to go to, actually) I missed their seasons finales. But thanks to the help of friends (Nick) and online encyclopedias (Wikipedia), I learned what happened.

Still. I missed the joys of "that's what she said!" from Michael and The Todd, the blackness of Stanley and Turk, and the sincerity of Jim and J.D. And of course I didn't tape it, because I am an idiot.

I could really use a TiVo. Late birthday present, anyone?

goofy

Someone told me that I was "kinda goofy" today. I took it as a compliment.

IACs last two days. Still can't run-- I'm probably done for the season. Anyways, we came in second. Guys lost to Dryden, girlz to T-Burg. Sux. Sexionals next week.

And I just realized that I have nothing else to write.

power out school delay

So basically, I get up at 6:30 like always and get ready for school. When my dad and I arrive, almost no cars are there. Turns out that there was a power outage and school was delayed for two hours. For some reason, other people knew, and my dad, a teacher wasn't called. Gizz-ay.

Now, I'm at my dad's computer at school, typing up this post because there is nothing else to do in a sixth grade math room. Maybe I'll go to YouTube or something.

...Nah, that's too trendy.

i r baboon

I'll probably start running next week. It's almost futile, seeing as how the season's almost over.

Speaking of almost over, the school year is almost over. I guess that means summer. And I guess that means lounging around the house for hours on end... ?

Also, FFIII is a great game.

PbF from a couple of days ago. I haven't been really keeping up in posting them here-- whatever.

There's a Beatles musical coming out on September 28 (thanks Josh). It stars Evan Rachel Wood and Jim Sturgess. Bono, Eddie Izzard, and Salma Hayek also make appearances. The film is called Across the Universe, from John Lennon's song of the same name. It mixes action with puppetry and animation, and a Disney animator was brought in.

I can't wait. It'll either be really charming, or just lame.

birthday

It's my birthday!

I got 'Live at the BBC' (The Beatles), Final Fantasy III, some books (yes, I read), and a lot of money. And more to come! As lame as it sounds, presents aren't the epitome of birthdays for me. Just the fact that I'm getting older. When I turn 60, I may not think so fondly of aging.

Also, I can kinda walk normally now. No running, but it's progressing.

ithaca relays '07

So basically I didn't run today at da Ithaca Relays (obv). They were fun nonetheless, I guess. Even though I'm a loser! Still-- phone number contest, and I once again emerged on top, with 100 (approx).

Also, tomorrow is the birthday of Luke. And Luke = me. So, one can conclude with the transitive property of equality that tomorrow is my birthday. And that would be correct! Because it is! But, I have to work at the Chicken Barbecue! Oh well!

It's late, and I need to ice... my heart. Not my ankle. Bye.

suxxorz

Sprained ankle today.

No running in the Ithaca Relays for me.

I'll go cry now.
